Service Project

Lourdes Academy has collected over 1000 food items for the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry!!!  Truly, God's love shines through our children's service to the hungry in our community.  Each item donated earned a chance to cut Coach Van Auken's hair... stay tuned for the announcement of the winner!  

Congratulations!

On Monday, Hailey N. (grade 8) and Ryan A. (grade 7) won our team player award.  Previous winners include Stephanie Correia (grade 6), Ar'mondre P. (grade 7), Matthew L. (grade 4), Tylee F. (grade 3), Dennis V. (grade 5), Mashanti C. (grade 1), Johnny M. (grade 8), Sierra Y. (grade 3), Romello N. (grade 4), Lea G. (grade 7), and Justin S. (grade 1) . Coach VanAuken gives out this award each week to the student who best displays good sportsmanship in Physical Education classes or as a team player overall.

Volunteers Needed

Lourdes Academy is only successful because of the involvement of our families.  To volunteer in Catholic schools, you must be cleared through our background screening process.  Background screens conducted by other agencies cannot be accepted.  Please visit the Diocese of Orlando website and click on Fingerprinting.  Volunteers must also complete the Safe Environment training on the same site.  Thank you for your service!

Home & School Association (HSA)

The Lourdes Academy Home and School Association (HSA) exists to serve the students and faculty of our school.  Through volunteerism and fundraising, the HSA ensures that the school has the help it needs to be the best it can be.  

General meetings of the HSA are scheduled for the following dates and times:
  • Thursday, September 15 at 7:00pm
  • Thursday, November 17 at 7:00pm
  • Thursday, February 16 at 7:00pm
  • Tuesday, April 17 at 7:00pm
All family members of current Lourdes Academy students are welcome to attend general meetings.  Parents who attend HSA meetings receive double service hours for each meeting attended.  Parents who attend all four HSA meetings in a year will receive credit for all 20 required service hours.  

Major events for the 2011-2012 school year include:
  • Back to School Sock Hop and Ice Cream Social - Friday, September 16 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm
  • Halloween Costume Party - Friday, October 28 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm
  • "Go Make a Difference" 5K Race and Walk - Saturday, February 4 at 9:00am
  • Spring Party - Friday, May 4 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm
Additional events include:
  • Chick-Fil-A nights at the ISB location
  • Chili's, Bob Evans, and Dairy Queen nights
  • Holiday fundraiser
